This soup was delicious and very easy to make! My 6YO loved it and it's filling so I was able to freeze leftovers.

Leah - We LOVED this recipe. I've never been a huge fan of black beans. (I think it's a texture thing.) I decided to try this recipe since the beans are blended and it looked yummy! I am so glad I tried it. The boys chowed it down... much to my surprise! And healthy too! My favorite part was all the leftovers. I plan to make one more meal out of it and freeze the rest. Thanks Leah! Keep the recipes coming.

True confession: I always use a stick blender because my regular blender has been broken for almost a year! Stick blenders ARE the best invention EVER, you're right! I'll ask Margaret if she knows of an electronics vendor, maybe she could get some for the Stores. :-)

Leah - I am so excited to try the Black Bean Soup recipe. My kids love it! I also like your tips on pureeing soup! Since I know you are going to be delighting us with all sorts of soup recipes, I would like to add a helpful hint. The thorn in my side with making soup has always been the part where you put it into the blender. I hate that you have to use multiple pots, and no matter how hard I try - it is messy. I have found that using a stick blender is the bomb. You can use it in the pot that you are cooking your soup in and it works like a charm. Maybe Sendiks should carry some in their gadget department?
