Sendik’s Confirms 10th Location in West Bend

Whitefish Bay, WI – Balistreri Owned and Operated Sendik’s Food Markets (the Red Bag Sendik’s) confirmed today that they will bring their upscale shopping experience to the residents of West Bend and surrounding communities.  The location of the approximately 50,000 square foot store will be 230 North 18th Avenue, West Bend, in the former Sears Grand building.  The building will be completely renovated with space for additional tenants.  The projected opening is mid October.

The West Bend Sendik’s will boost employment in the area.  Patrick Balistreri, who owns Sendik’s, along with brothers Nick and Ted, and sister, Margaret Harris, says 160 employees will staff the new store.  The majority of the new associates will be from the West Bend area.  Overall, Sendik’s employs 1,500.

“Our reputation is built on high-quality products and selection along with impeccable service from our associates.  We recruit, train, and promote only the best employees to enhance the entire grocery shopping experience,” said Patrick Balistreri.

This will be the 10th Sendik’s location for the family-owned and operated Balistreri Sendik’s.  Known as the “Red Bag” Sendik’s for the distinctive reusable red bag it offers, other locations are Whitefish Bay, Wauwatosa, Mequon, Grafton, Elm Grove, Franklin, Greenfield, Germantown, and New Berlin.

Patrick Balistreri concluded, “West Bend is an awesome community and we couldn’t be more pleased to be able to provide our quality food offerings and unparallelled service.”

I am very happy that you are bringing Sendiks to West Bend . I will have a chance to get a job there.

Why would there need to be one in Hartford? Hartford is a hop, skip and a jump away from West Bend.

Can’t wait for the store to open! Fresh, fresh produce, great bakery and a meat department that cannot be beat!!!
Hope an ad advertising the store/prices is put in the Washington/West Bend shoppers guide. A lot of people are under the misunderstanding that Sendiks is only a “high end” store, which is wrong. They are very competitive with Pick n Save and have much fresher products. Have great store brands and also carry the regular brands that are sold everywhere.
    Welcome to West Bend

Welcome to West Bend!! Can’t wait for the opening of your store! Fresh, Fresh produce, wonderful bakery, and a meat department that can’t be beat! Store brands that are very good. At last a choice of places to grocery shop at. Hope that you put an ad in the Washington county/West Bend Shoppers guide/Post so people can see that the prices are competitive with the other stores here.

Welcome to West Bend! Can’t wait for the store to open! Fresh, fresh produce, wonderful bakery, and a meat department that can’t be beat! A great variety of store brands!  Finally, a large grocery store in West Bend other than Pick n Save!
Hope that ads are put into the Shoppers Guide/Post so people that think Sendiks is very competitive with Pick n Save in price.

We look forward to your opening in West Bend. The 2 new “other” grocery stores have a terrible shopping experience and updated design. Please don’t make us go through the produce if we want to get to the rest of the store in a hurry. Make it easy in and easy out for us working business people, and you will have a customer for life!

We need a grocery store in Barton area!

I have e-mailed and begged for Sendiks to come to West Bend – THANK YOU!!!  I am so happy you will be a part of our community.  Pick N Save and Piggly Wiggly will be a distant memory once I can patronize your West Bend location on a regular basis.  Germantown is awesome and I go there as often as possible but it is not always convenient – Your customer service, selection and overall quality is refreshing and makes it a pleasure to be a loyal customer.

I am from  Alexandria,Va. My sister   is a local resident and relates a story about SENDIK,S  coming to the house on Washington Blvd  Milwaukee in  1933. A “push cart” loaded with fruits and fresh vegies. She would be the first customer and announce “SENDIKS IS COMING! Soon a crowd of shoppers would gather and the CART would soon be empty and return reloaded. Sendiks has made a lasting impression on us
and we look forward to shopping with you once more! OH, my sister is near 90.

PLEASE!!!  We would love to see Sendiks in the Lake Country area!!!  Oconomowoc to be specific!  Same situation, we need an alternative to Pick n Save and Piggly Wiggly.  Brennan’s is nice, but not the WHOLE package!  I’ve shopped at Sendiks since living on the east side, many years ago. The produce, bakery, meat & deli depts, you name it, FANTASTIC!  Please consider Oconomowoc…West is very nice!
