Crispy Tilapia Sandwich
It’s time once again for the sale we’ve all been waiting for. The perfect mid-winter pick-me-up and no, I’m not talking about the semi-annual shoe clearance at Nordstrom, (although that’s a good one too). “Seven Days, Seven Ways to Save” has returned to your favorite Balistreri Sendik’s, where there will be some awesome deals in store (pun intended, my apologies) every day of the week throughout the duration of the sale.

Almond Crusted Tilapia
I think I’ve found my new favorite way to make tilapia, and oh my gosh – this is a great recipe. I don’t have that much else to say about it today except for that if you’re looking for a really, REALLY fast and easy preparation for fish, give this one a try. It’s a winner.

Panko Crusted Salmon
This is one of the best recipes in my repertoire for salmon of any kind – Copper River, Coho, farm raised, whatever. It’s simple and delicious, and if you’ve been here a while you know that sear roasting fish is my favorite cooking technique because it’s truly no fail. This entire dish comes together in less than half an hour, so fire up your oven, put your favorite rice pilaf on to boil, and steam some fresh veggies in the five minutes the fish takes to roast. Delicious, easy, and homemade … I hope you’ll try it. : )

Polenta Crusted Fish Cakes with Spicy Tomato Sauce
If you’re trying to work more fish into your weekly dinner repertoire, here’s a great way to do it. If you’re trying to do it economically, this recipe also fits the bill!

Sesame Crusted Tuna with Wasabi Ponzu Sauce
I hope I’m not the only one who feels like summer has done a number on her diet. As much as I hate to see the beginning of a new school year, I do welcome a fresh routine and the chance to get back to somewhat normal eating restraints. For me this means and end to sneaking fries and popcorn chicken off my kid’s plates at the pool, and fewer s’mores washed down with beers around the bonfire. It was all sooooo good going down, wasn’t it?!

Baja Fish Tacos with Southwestern Slaw
Crazy end of the school year stuff ruled my life yesterday, and before I knew it, it was 4:10 and I had absolutely no idea what we were going to have for dinner. Usually I know what I’m making by around 9am, but there were wacky errands to run and a messy house to contend with and a workout to fit in and dinner just wasn’t part of my grand plan.

Weeknight Fish & Chips
I first posted this recipe in October of last year – so yes, it’s a re-run. But with the Pre-Lenten Seafood Sale happening this week, I thought it was worth featuring it again. It’s simple enough for a weeknight, and is the perfect make-at-home recipe if you’ve got a hankerin’ for fish-fry but don’t feel like standing in line with your patience-challenged children at a crowded restaurant on a Friday night.

Sear-Roasted Cod with Horseradish Aioli & Lemon Zest Breadcrumbs
Okay, I’ve got one for yah’ today: a delicious fish recipe that even people who ‘don’t like fish’ will enjoy – ‘cause it doesn’t taste the least bit fishy! I used the sale cod loins (seriously, cod loins? Did you ever know of such a thing? I can’t help but snicker), but you could use whatever white flaky fish you like….heck, try it with the sale salmon if that’s what floats your boat. It’s not white of course, but the aioli, lemon breadcrumbs, and technique would totally work there too.

Grilled Swordfish with Tomatoes & Capers
The last time I had this dish was at a friend’s house, about seven years ago. Seven years later I still can’t get it out of my head, and I’m surprised that I haven’t ever bothered to make it myself.

Cedar Planked Salmon with Apricot & Jalapeno Glaze
I had an adventure yesterday afternoon. I’ll admit that I was a little jittery and nervous to start with, but it turned out to be a fun little thrill and I can’t wait to try it again sometime soon! It’s exciting to dabble in risky behavior, right? Face your fears head on? Step out of your comfort zone and learn something new?
