Fastest Barbecued Chicken
But an even better smell would come from their grill – my aunt’s nearly famous barbecued chicken – one of my all time favorite meals as a kid. She would serve piping hot baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, and a cool and crunchy tossed salad alongside. I’ll never forget that menu as long as I live!
I’ll never master her recipe either, but I’ve been making this one for a few years now. Every time I do, I flash back to those steamy summer evenings of my childhood. Sticky saucy fingers and faces, bug spray and fireflies, and the warm feeling from being reunited with family –-

Grilled Herb Shrimp
Surely by now you’ve planted that herb garden we discussed a couple of weeks back. If you haven’t already planted a few pots — don’t delay, act now! You still have time! Trust me, you need fresh herbs in your life. I’ll be using them A LOT in my summertime posts – because fresh herbs make everything taste extra fabulous!

Grilled Swordfish with Tomatoes & Capers
The last time I had this dish was at a friend’s house, about seven years ago. Seven years later I still can’t get it out of my head, and I’m surprised that I haven’t ever bothered to make it myself.

Bacon Wrapped Scallops
It’s Thursday and I’m dog tired, man. Beat. Bushed. Bleary-eyed and world-weary.
I’m looking forward to Friday night and possibly hanging out with our neighbor friends on the patio or around a roaring bonfire…I’m secretly hoping that someone out there in the cul-de-sac will read this today, do the neighborly thing, and invite us over for conversation and good cheer.

Picnic Pork Chop Sandwich
I love the chicken and pork sandwich fillets you can get in the meat department now. I’ve tried both and am sold on this cut! They cook quickly and are a great option for an easy dinner on a busy night – or, haul all your goods to the ballpark and enjoy this sandwich next time you tailgate. Hopefully by that time the Brewer’s will have turned things around – as I write this they’ve lost their past seven games!

Cedar Planked Salmon with Apricot & Jalapeno Glaze
I had an adventure yesterday afternoon. I’ll admit that I was a little jittery and nervous to start with, but it turned out to be a fun little thrill and I can’t wait to try it again sometime soon! It’s exciting to dabble in risky behavior, right? Face your fears head on? Step out of your comfort zone and learn something new?
